Master ceramic artisan Kim Gyeong-sik, holder of Korea’s Important Intangible Cultural Heritage designation, and Kim Ji-hoon, certified successor of the same tradition. At Teahouse Hada, we present the ceramic culture shaped by three generations of the Baeksanga family lineage, which has continued for over 300 years across nine generations. As Korea’s only surviving family line officially recognized under the national intangible cultural heritage tradition of ceramic mastery, Baeksanga brings forth a deeply rooted legacy of craftsmanship and spirit. Since the reign of King Yeongjo of the Joseon Dynasty, Baeksanga has preserved Korea’s restrained beauty and native elegance within ceramics, carrying artisan spirit across generations. Within these vessels—formed through layers of clay, fire, and the time of human hands—reside the aesthetics and dignity of an entire era.
